phonogfp
Interesting image! These are off-duty German soldiers during World War One. While the Germans generally enjoyed superior trenches, dugouts, and bunkers, the mill-sawn lumber, electric lights, and plumbing were not typical front-line amenities. This looks like a cellar in a rear area. The newspaper was published in Bonn and distributed there and in neighboring districts, giving a probable general location for this picture. Thanks for posting! George P.
Valecnik
By 1914-18 there were certainly better options availabe than a Trade Mark. It would have been a lot easier to carry around the trenches than an Edison A&N though. Edited August 27, 2023 by Valecnik
