"On This Day in Phonographic History..."

 

September 4, 1907: John C. English filed for a U.S. Design Patent (eventually granted as No.39,017) for “Cabinet for Talking Machines.” This would be marketed as the Victrola XX.

 

January 14, 1908: John C. English was granted U.S. Design Patent No.39,017 for “Cabinet for Talking Machines.”
