Gul234 Posted July 16, 2021 Posted July 16, 2021 Hello, Recently at a local WWII re enactment I purchased a portable wind up gramophone. I've been looking all over the place for the manufacturer and roughly when it was made. Written on the inside of the player it reads, "Period". On the locking tabs it looks like it says "SP". I am new to collecting these and hope somebody can assist me. Thanks!
CurtA Posted July 16, 2021 Posted July 16, 2021 (edited) Post this in the European section, as well, since this looks (to me) to be a British portable... Also, try posting it here: https://forum.talkingmachine.info/viewforum.php?f=11 Edited July 16, 2021 by CurtA
BenL Posted July 16, 2021 Posted July 16, 2021 It's using an ortho design, so I'd say late 20s through mid 30s. They kept making portables like this using the style of tonearm well into the 40s, but the case design has more of a 30s look to me.
