Tinfoilphono Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 Absolutely fantastic! What a great find, and what great sound.
phonogfp Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 Interesting discovery, John! As much as we think we know about brown wax, I suspect we'd be surprised at how little we know... Keep up the good work - - George P.
Analogous Posted November 14, 2020 Author Posted November 14, 2020 BTW, these cylinders were found in the Midwest with a bunch of record slips from an LA dealer. All of the titles were ca. 1898 Columbia's. Regardless, I actually don't think we know much about the brown wax era and most of what we know is eventually disproven. That's part of its intrigue! John
Neilvanstem Posted November 15, 2020 Posted November 15, 2020 Is there some secret as to how to read the article. I get a big dialog box asking me to subscribe to the newspaper and see o X to close that box. Neil
JPow Posted November 15, 2020 Posted November 15, 2020 Try this, Neil: https://news.yahoo.com/meet-guardians-worlds-earliest-musical-130014484.html 3
