Hey all 

New here so I dunno whether this has been covered but... 

 

Is there a name for this modified Victor 1 with pressed wood sides?

The top molding looks odd. Is that what's been modified?

But it calls it a dressed up vic 1 from Germany.

I was just hoping for a name better than "that little German Victor 1 with the acanthus designs pressed into the sides and the ivorette tag with the recording angel from page 93...etc" to research it more.

"Victor" machines were produced in various countries - England, France, Germany, etc. with variations in designs.  Is this machine yours, or are you just wondering about it?  The description in the book pretty well describes it.  It's a D.G.A.G. (Deutsche Grammophon} Victor I variation.  Personally, I like it better than the US version, which its rather plain...
