Oregonian Posted July 18, 2022 Posted July 18, 2022 Here's an interesting Edison Standard. The normal start/stop mechanism has been modified. When the endgate is opened and a cylinder installed, the machine starts when the endgate is closed. Watch! phonogfp Posted July 18, 2022 Posted July 18, 2022 That's a "Wilkeslyke Automatic Start and Stop Attachment." There were briefly advertised in The Talking Machine World in early 1908, but the operation appeared to be under-funded. I've seen only a handful of these. The advertisements showed Home Phonographs, but by March 1908, the ads mentioned the availability for Standards as well. George P. 3
