Needle type identification

The Victor Credenza that I picked up from in-laws, had a needle that I have not seen before. I've attached a photo. Can you help identify the type?

I think I found something on eBay that looks like it might be the source.   Has anyone heard of "Recoton" needles?

It does. But it is very rigid.  Not a sharp point, and it does not bend. It was already at that angle.

That apparently explains why so many records appear to be worn out... I thought it was from using rusty nails...

Funny you said that about using nails- i was just going through the used needle tin from a VV-X, and I found several finishing nails in there! LOL
