Next Thursday, UCSB is launching the Early Recordings Initiative - an effort to preserve pre-1903 records (primarily brown wax cylinders) and to make it more accessible.  

 

The Launch Event will include a parlor orchestra concert directed by Colin Hancock as well as a brown wax demo recording the ensemble.

 

If you're near Santa Barbara, you can attend the event in person, or you can tune in on Zoom.
