phonogfp Posted January 25, 2022 Posted January 25, 2022 Have you been considering joining the Antique Phonograph Society, but wondering what the quarterly magazine looks like? Here's a recent issue: https://antiquephono.org/flowpaper/152710/APS-21-9 You can join the APS in a few moments right here: https://www.antiquephono.org/join-us-home/ 3
melvind Posted January 25, 2022 Posted January 25, 2022 I think all collectors owe it to themselves to join APS. The quarterly magazine is more than worth the cost of membership. The magazine provides incredible and most of the time rare information not available anywhere else. I cannot imagine being a phonograph collector without APS. Please do consider joining if you aren't already a member. It is affordable and the best resource for phonograph collectors anywhere. 4

I've been a member for some years and I could not agree more. In addition to the wonderful magazine, there are the connections and friendships that develop with incredibly knowlegible people. The other "new collector advice" I would offer is to purchase every related book you can get your hands on. Oh and read them! 🙂 2
Valecnik Posted January 25, 2022 Posted January 25, 2022 This new online format for "The Antique Phonograph" periodical is really great. Will all future and past issues be available in the same format now? https://antiquephono.org/flowpaper/152710/APS-21-9
RodPickett Posted January 30, 2022 Posted January 30, 2022 We are evaluating “flipbook” style delivery options for the Journal. This example that George shared was a test-conversion of a more recent issue in our repository and produced an example with poorer-quality photos and the content is non-searchable. We will not be undertaking a conversion of archive material. George shared it as an example of our Journal content. However, moving-forward, we produced a prototype of the December 21 issue, using a different method, and the results are SPECTACULAR! We have not yet determined a plan or process for future delivery. Comments welcome. 2

Comments welcome. This would be a big step forward, periodical at your finger tips, instantly available at the same time to all, tablet & smartphone friendly! Especially nice for those of us across the big pond and elsewhere. Really great. Keep us posted on progress. 🙂 Edited January 30, 2022 by Valecnik grammar
