Thanks Rod for posting this guide; my hope is it helps to visually explain how American Graphophone constructed one of their typical motors, especially their unique method for adjusting the gear lash/mesh of the governor - it's pretty ingenious, imho. I hope I haven't caused too much confusion with my attempt to keep it as short and simple as I did.

I always thought this was an outstanding piece of work.  Virtually anyone can understand what's being shown and how to do it themselves.

Thanks for posting this.  Having disassembled several Columbia motors, this explains a few things that I was not aware of...
