September 22, 1870: Born: Arthur Pryor, trombone virtuoso, bandleader, soloist with Sousa’s Band, prolific composer of band music, and recording artist.

 

June 18, 1942: Died.

Here is an early Electrically recorded record by Arthur Pryor's Band from 1925. I think of his records in the earlier acoustic era, but this is a good one. It is a famous and classic record including whistling and barking by Margaret McKee and Billy Murray. I suppose that dog barking might actually be Nipper! Who Knows! ?
