The 1905 Lewis & Clark Portland Exhibition: "On This Day in Phonographic History..."

June 1, 1905: The Lewis & Clark Exposition opened in Portland, Oregon.  Award markings and decals for this event are sometimes found on talking machines and records of the period.

You'll notice in Dan's fantastic video, an example of Columbi'a's Napkin Ring Souvenir recorded by visitors at this Exposition.  These Napkin Rings were gaining in popularity.  An article in the 1906 Talking Machine World, highlighted same.
