Grammophon Posted November 16, 2020 Posted November 16, 2020 (edited) The toothed securing ring of this "Heavy Eagle" reproducer looks unusual. The Columbia AB, serial number 752840, which came with it, bears the dealer tag of Otto Schleiffelder, Vienna, Austria: https://grammophon-platten.de/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?48051.last What do you think of it? phonogfp Posted November 16, 2020 Posted November 16, 2020 The compression ring looks like that of an Edison Reproducer. George P. 1
Grammophon Posted November 16, 2020 Author Posted November 16, 2020 You are right. It looks like a clamp ring from an Edison reproducer. Thank you very much. It seems to be a historical repair, which I leave in this condition. The Columbia AB came from a private owner who was no phonograph collector.

I agree that it seems to be a somewhat later repair but very interesting. I also would leave as is.
RonL Posted November 23, 2020 Posted November 23, 2020 (edited) Is the body of the reproducer threaded to accept the ring or is the threaded ring just pressed in? Edited November 23, 2020 by RonL error
