Polyphone Posted November 14, 2020 Posted November 14, 2020 John Levin just shared these articles with me. I found these records years ago in a little honey hole in the midwest. It's great to see some national press on the stewardship of preserving brown wax recordings. Ken Flaherty LA's Music Evolution A Temple of Sound Wax Cylinder Dentist
Neilvanstem Posted November 15, 2020 Posted November 15, 2020 I clicked on the links above but they bring me back here so go no where. Neil
Polyphone Posted November 15, 2020 Author Posted November 15, 2020 Try cutting and pasting the links into your browser. The LA Times is not a proponent of free content and ad blockers. If you don't have a subscription, you may be able get access to the LA Times and other major newpapers via your public library.....that is how it works here in metro Detroit.
RodPickett Posted November 15, 2020 Posted November 15, 2020 Forum Tip As with other similar forums, when inserting hyperlinks into posts, the hyperlink formatting option must be selected to make it so, as I have edited here to format a hyperlink with a title. Nonetheless, as already observed, I have exceed my "free" LA Times viewing and can no longer read the articles without a subscription.
Polyphone Posted November 16, 2020 Author Posted November 16, 2020 This should get everyone to the information.......bypassing the LA Times site....hope this works, Ken LA's Music Evolution Temple of Sound Wax Cylinder Dentist 1
