Rick Posted January 16 Posted January 16 My Columbia AA is: Serial # 712013 Reproducer Eagle Decal large No back decal 10" Nickel horn It looks so nice , however, that it may have been refinished and a new large decal used.
Tinfoilphono Posted January 17 Author Posted January 17 Thanks for that. I obviously don't know if your cabinet may have been refinished with a new decal, but the large decal is appropriate for that serial number. The small decal evidently came into use around 712800 or shortly thereafter.
Fran604g Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Fascinating topic! As George may testify, I am completely enamored of the AA. I find the aluminum top works with the "jeweling" particularly interesting because of the anachronistic design (think Type N), which seems to reject any of the period "improvements" made with the more prevalent cast top works of the more popular (full-sized, cased) models.

Definitely looks like he could have been a gun slinger to me!
amberola75 Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Mine has a D reproducer, decal on the back is 1900, and the serial number is 712794. I have to say, for it's small size, it's the most ornate case ever made! In my opinion, Columbia cornered the market on stylish cases, but Edison had superior mechanical design.
Tinfoilphono Posted February 4 Author Posted February 4 Thanks for that addition. Is the front decal the large version covering the full panel?
