nippers_lounge Posted September 28 Posted September 28 (edited) Had a friend suggest that I just put a drop of oil on the old felt. Edited September 28 by nippers_lounge
Jerry Posted September 29 Posted September 29 As long as there is still enough felt to make contact with the governor friction plate, while not allowing the any of the brass yoke to rub on the friction plate, you most likely have enough felt. Frankly, I've never heard of anyone having to replace the felt, but then I have certainly not "heard it all"... Oiling the old felt is definitely good advice.
nippers_lounge Posted September 29 Author Posted September 29 Thank you Jerry. Actually what the problem was, has to due with the weights on the governor. I had contacted, George Valloma about a new governor and he told me to just readjust the weights by the set screw.
