melvind Posted Tuesday at 02:20 PM Posted Tuesday at 02:20 PM Here are two RCA Victor 33 1/3 rpm Program Transcriptions from 1931 and 1932. These are not dubs, they were recorded for this purpose. Both are in pretty good shape, but I really enjoy the first one most. It's nice to hear 8 or 9 minutes of music on one side of a record. RodPickett Posted Wednesday at 08:01 PM Posted Wednesday at 08:01 PM Wasn't aware 33 1/3 were available that early
melvind Posted Wednesday at 08:05 PM Author Posted Wednesday at 08:05 PM Well, it didn't last long. The players were expensive in the early days of the great depression, and the records wore out quickly from the weight of the tone arm. But, they are fun records when they are still in playable shape. Many were dubs of existing 78 rpm records, but these two were only produced as long play records. I really like obscure things like these records. 1
