MisterJive47 Posted Thursday at 02:08 AM Posted Thursday at 02:08 AM Hi all, I met a young enthusiast by the name of Sean at the show this past month while at my table. He hit me up today about the Brunswick 112 he has. He has explained to me that it only wants to run when he turns the crank, and it won't maintain speed. Obviously I'm working blind here, but I'm wondering is it the mainspring, the winding ratchet, the brake, or is it just so gummed up that he's forcing it through on full tension? I know regardless that the motorboard is going to have to be pulled. I just want to send him in the right direction on this. He's obviously going to need help. I've attached the video he sent me. MisterJive47 Posted Thursday at 03:12 AM Author Posted Thursday at 03:12 AM Well, from further gatherings, I've drawn the conclusion it's likely just that badly gummed up. 😬
Jerry Posted Thursday at 11:08 PM Posted Thursday at 11:08 PM He shouldn't do that... As you do, I also believe that the springs are completely gummed up, to the point that they will not unwind. This supposes that someone has not done something very odd to "fix" the motor in the past. 1

I guess I did neglect to mention that the video pained me as well to see 😅. I probably should've put a graphic images disclaimer on that... 😬 Yes, he definitely shouldn't do that. Well, we'll see how he proceeds. Not sure if I'm comfortable with him trying to do the work himself, so I may offer for him to mail the motor my way. He's in Iowa, and I'm in Chicago. If there's anyone on the forum here that's close by to him that would be willing to take on the job, I'd be willing to pass on their contacts to him though to save on the shipping hassle.
