Here is a nice example of an Edison Chinese cylinder, OBL and associated catalog.

Incredibly rare indeed.  Are you lucky enough to also have the cylinder inside?

Yes indeed, in mint condition.  I don't know what happened to that photo.  I thought I uploaded it.

Oh you are lucky indeed.  At some point posting a recording of that cylinder would be great.

Did you know these cylinders were PIRATED?  In so doing, the rarest of the rare have been preserved.  This IIRC celluloid (miraculously not split - yet) has Ed12770, Part I of Wise Man in the Snow.  It's quite a good transfer too (if you're into this sort of music).

I did not know this detail.  I have an OBL and a cylinder similar to your photo, but sadly, the cylinder has split.
