Koraxtheghoul
As I was struggling to put the engine back in my phonograph this spring got caught in my pants. I hope I haven't damaged it too badly. What should I do? Edited Sunday at 05:18 PM by Koraxtheghoul
phonogfp
The larger loop of the spring needs to hook onto the lug close to the pulley. George P.

I see it in Spotter’s Guide to the Edison Standard Phonograph. Can't seem to thread it and not sure what to do with the other loop.
Roaring20s
This is from a Standard sitting on my shelf, it should be of some visual help. You wrap the one end of the spring around the tensioner (A) the other end in the notch (B). Also you may need to create some tension on the spring by adding a revolution to the coiled wire (C). There needs to be just a small amount of pressure against the belt once this is completed (belt is not shown in my photos). James.
