Bought this little beauty for $180.00 off of eBay. Should get it in a few days.

Tinfoilphono

That's an unusual find! I wasn't aware that QRS branched away from just piano rolls, but it makes sense.

A record label was begun in the 1920’s with three series of discs. Mostly reissues from Gennett records. They lasted until 1930. This is the first machine I have found that is in decent shape.

Okay, so the phonograph arrived today. There, is just one minor problem. I need to find a rubber gasket for the sound box, as the original disintegrated ( no surprise).  The gasket is so the sound box will fit on the tone arm. It was red. The sound box has some weight to it, so it’s well made.

Well, you could fill that groove with silicon, let it cure for, say, 24 hours, and reassemble. Or you could search the parts drawers at a hardware store for a large O-ring.

OK, I guess my suggestions aren't relevant to what you need. I re-read your original post and looked again at the photos, which I now realize show front and back views of the sound box. So you need a gasket for that small-diameter projection in the top photo, right? Not sure if gasket needs to slip over or inside of the projection. In either case, you might be able to fit a short piece of tubing, of the proper diameter, and make that work. Again, a hardware store might have what you need there. Good luck, and let us know how it turns out!

Thanks you Henry!

I have since had to remove the tone arm, as it was a bit stiff. Use some WD-40 to clean it up, and then added some oil to try and help lubricate it. No, sure how long this machine sat. As, I was surprised at the motor still runs, and can still be wound up.

Henry's idea for a short piece of tubing is a good idea.  Take the reproducer and the tonearm to Lowes or an auto parts store to find the right size that fits the outside of the tonearm and inside the reproducer throat...

You were given a viable solution on the other forum, but didn't want left over rubber....

I have a friend on the Talking Machine Forum, who would be willing to fix my tone arm and sound box.

I’m not having much luck.

Take some advice from Helen Kane (Betty Boop):

"You know, it's been told, and explained,

That nothing tried is nothing gained

Oh, do, do, do something!"

Thank you!

Gramophone_George said he could fashion something for the sound box.

Update! The tone arm and soundbox are back and in good working order. George did an amazing job fixing it for me.
