AudioAntique Posted February 11, 2024 Posted February 11, 2024 Guests at Appleton, WI Hearthstone House Museum (the first house in the world to be lit with hydroelectricity using an Edison system) were amazed and impressed as we demonstrated a 1879 Brehmer Bros. "Parlor" tinfoil phonograph. By explaining the process, doing a recording, (Mary had a little lamb, of course) and playing it back, one could witness the amazement and understanding of the process in the response of the people. Unlike digital recording, the analog process presents a physical medium with visual evidence of sound captured on tinfoil. It was great day to celebrate Edison's 177th birthday. Rob & Joan 6
