Daniel Posted December 11, 2023 Posted December 11, 2023 I found this phonograph 2 years ago on the curb, I have already done some repairs and cleaning up. It still has the motor, the main wiring harness and most of the hardware, everything that is there is in very good condition and works, I was just wondering if anyone has any leads to finding some of the needed parts to have it closer to working. The amplifier, speaker, reproducer and switches are gone and the tone arm is broken, but its still too nice to part out. Any help or advice is much appreciated. 2
Daniel Posted January 16, 2024 Author Posted January 16, 2024 Since this post was made I have bought the correct tonearm with the magnetic pickup and fixed the missing piece of trim on the door. 3
Daniel Posted February 21 Author Posted February 21 (edited) At this point I have found some of the missing parts and repaired most of the damage to the cabinet, and rewired the motor .The only components still missing are the AP-736 amplifier and the speaker. I hope you enjoy the progress so far. Edited February 21 by Daniel 1
Henry Posted February 22 Posted February 22 Nice find. Good luck completing the works. Have you entered your machine into Paul Edie's database? http://www.victor-victrola.com/12-15.htm 1
Daniel Posted February 23 Author Posted February 23 I believe I did enter it sometime around when I got it.
audiophile102 Posted February 24 Posted February 24 (edited) Did you try the antique radios Forum for your amp and speaker? https://antiqueradios.com/forums/index.php Edited February 24 by audiophile102 1
electrolaman Posted February 26 Posted February 26 The 736 Amp is a hard one to find. Do keep in mind that your VE12-15E is a later version that has a 8" speaker instead of 6" speaker. That 8" too is harder to find as well. If I see either of these come up I will pass the information along to you. Best, Carlton Smith 1
Daniel Posted Thursday at 09:27 PM Author Posted Thursday at 09:27 PM I appreciate the help, hopefully something will turn up soon.
Jerry Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago Can another amplifier and speaker be substituted, until the real thing comes along?
