melvind Posted August 1, 2023 Posted August 1, 2023 Here are two sides of an interesting record. It is a 12 inch 78 rpm vinyl record from 1939. It sounds as though it was intended for radio broadcast. So, likely a transcription record. There is no mention of transcription on the label but both sides are advertisements for Lucky Strike Cigarettes (which I do not endorse 🤢) and includes very nicely recorded music. I assume both are from some kind of radio show and were likely produced from portions of Lucky Strike sponsored shows. I found several other examples with various other artists in a web search. So, they must be somewhat common. But, they seem a bit rare to me. And, both sides of this record are in great shape.
