Gripsweat?

Is anyone here familiar with the website, “Gripsweat?” It purports to  list recent auction sales of records,  but the prices seem awfully high. In fact, most  of the 20-or-so pre-1925 records I’ve recently purchased for around three bucks each show sales for at least five times that price. Are these legitimate? Just wondering; I’m not selling, but these numbers seem way out of wack with the real world…

This is a strange website - you are correct to use the word "purports", since they don't offer any proof of where these records were listed and sold.  They seem to be trying to establish some kind of price guide to boost the market...

 

With AI coming into play, the phrase "seeing is believing" can't be trusted either.

Thank you, Curt; it certainly seems fishy to me! I don’t understand why, if they’re legit, they don’t include information about in what auction the “sales” were made.

I don't understand anything about that site, especially its name... there must not be any website names left to choose.
