Cranks-n-Horns417 Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 i guys. I saw where the members were able to help "munnic" with identifying his Columbia Grafonola. Mine is serial numbered D38518 Am Graphophone Co. Bridgetown, Conn. It is mahogany with columns on on all 4 corners. It has vents, no front doors. The reproducer is a Columbia but I see no other designations on it. Please see the Photos below. I think I got a treasure buying it for $125. Any help you guys can offer would be great. It's amazing how much amassed knowledge can be found here. Thanks!
CurtA Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 A very nice machine, in great condition. It appears to be a Grafonola "Favorite"... You got a good deal.
CurtA Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 (edited) The oak machine that you recently posted is a similar model and the two are a good start to a Columbia collection, which may be a slippery slope... The oak one is a Viva-Tonal model, with an exceptional reproducer, made for electrically recorded Columbia Viva-Tonal records or other similar ones. It should be a great sounding machine for both acoustic and electrically recorded records. Edited May 5, 2023 by CurtA
