melvind Posted March 7, 2023 Posted March 7, 2023 There is a Victrola Borgia combination Radio and Phonograph listed on an auction site (bidonenveryting.com) that has a most horrific paint job, but something inside the lid caught my eye. It has a really unique dealer tag. I like things like this and have seen anything like it before. Here are a couple of shots of the machine. Warning: could cause anxiety and panic attacks. 2
phonogfp Posted March 7, 2023 Posted March 7, 2023 I've seen one or two similar tags around here from a New York State dealer. I expect some company offered these tags with the dealers' names at so much per dozen. I wonder if there's an offering in the Talking Machine World? It is indeed an interesting tag! George P.
melvind Posted March 9, 2023 Author Posted March 9, 2023 (edited) That's great! It looks like a decal..the one I saw seems to be metal. Edited March 9, 2023 by melvind

It is some kind of transfer. It is quite similar, even in the language used. Denholm & McKay was a high end department store in Worcester Mass. The label on my machine does not limit it to a Victrola and just refers to the Victrola as “this instrument”. Edited March 9, 2023 by Django
RodPickett Posted March 10, 2023 Posted March 10, 2023 René is old enough to remember when companies attached metal asset-tags on items, for inventory and depreciation purposes. 4
