mimsm Posted November 1, 2022 Posted November 1, 2022 This after market reproducer came with a Victor 4-7 I purchased a few years ago. It's in decent shape for the most part. Wondering how hard it would be to repair the guts. Any tips on where to find parts, or a person to send it off to for a rebuild. I also have the original reproducer but the pot metal is pretty cracked and I'm afraid it would crumble if I was disassembled. Thanks for any help.
phonogfp Posted November 1, 2022 Posted November 1, 2022 For a good rebuild, I'd recommend Wyatt Markus: restorationarts@gmail.com, Best of luck, George P. 1
electrolaman Posted November 2, 2022 Posted November 2, 2022 As George P. says, Wyatt always for rebuilds. However, that sound box is not a Orthophonic. It is a cheap sound box sold on child's phonographs in the 1940s and later. I reccoment you acquire a real Victor Orthophonic sound box or have Wyatt make you up one. Best, Carlton Smith 1
mimsm Posted November 2, 2022 Author Posted November 2, 2022 Thanks for the information! I have a real Victor Orthophonic that works pretty decently. I'm just worried it wouldn't make it through a restoration with the condition of the pot metal. Thank you for the response.
