RodPickett Posted August 28, 2022 Posted August 28, 2022 Matt, Welcome to the Forum. A general geographic location would be helpful as there may be someone local or near that could help.
phonogfp Posted August 28, 2022 Posted August 28, 2022 Welcome to the APS Forum, Matt. From what I can see in your images, the critical items you need for your Eagle to play are a winding key and a belt. To make your Eagle complete, you would also need a belt cover and screws, but many Eagles today lack them. For a winding key and a belt, try: Brian Parlier The Phonograph Shop https://www.facebook.com/ThePhonographShop/ www.thephonographshop.com brian@thephonographshop.com (C) 704.995.9142 (H) 704.644.8606 AND... George Vollema: http://www.victroladoctor.com/ Making belts can be a little tricky, but there's an excellent video on this Forum showing how it's done: The Eagle belt covers are difficult to find and consequently expensive. There are also three variations of them. Your early Eagle should be UNSTAMPED - no markings on it. Be sure to get the tiny screws that go with it. EBay can be helpful for these belt covers, but I'd try Brian and George (above) first. By the way, early production Eagles like yours did not originally have a mandrel tag, but someone has added one to yours (in the mistaken belief that all Eagles had them). I've removed these mandrel tags with a hair dryer, but if Mr. Fixit used crazy glue, you'll need acetone (nail polish remover). If you don't have a horn for your Eagle, you can get a nice reproduction from either of the fellows I've recommended above. It's a 10" black cone with a gold stripe. There's a great thread on Eagles on this Forum: Eagle serial numbering began at 80,000, so your example is the 15,982nd one built (out of over 150,000). Finally, your Eagle appears to have the metal cup and remains of white rubber from its original listening tube. You can remove that and keep it with that mandrel tag for sales/trading material. Ask questions as they occur to you, and best of luck - - George P.
