Description
I have for sale this Spanish gramophone i just finished restoring.
I bought this circa 1918 "Compañía Española de Máquinas Parlantes" gramophone from the former house/laboratory of Dr Santiago Ramón y Cajal who won the Nobel prize in 1906 for his theory of the neuron cells.
As you can see, it's a gorgeous example of Spanish Art Déco with a stunning mahogany horn.
An amazing detail are the hand writing dates on the underside of the lid where somebody called "Hereu" wrote the dates followed by and "M" (of "Mantenimiento / Maintenance'') to register when it was oiled and checked.
